In 792DS(DS)(ВЖЛ792)

Overview

IN792 Master Alloy is a nickel-based casting master alloy developed for the production of high-performance IN792 superalloy castings. It contains carefully controlled additions of chromium, cobalt, tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, aluminum, titanium, and trace elements to ensure accurate chemistry adjustment during vacuum induction melting and precision casting processes.

Designed for aerospace, industrial gas turbines, and power generation applications, IN792 Master Alloy provides excellent high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, hot corrosion resistance, and thermal fatigue performance. It is widely used in the manufacture of turbine blades, vanes, combustion components, and other critical hot-section parts operating under severe service conditions.

Corrosion Resistance

IN792 Master Alloy is designed to produce castings with excellent resistance to oxidation and hot corrosion at elevated temperatures. The chromium, aluminum, and tantalum additions contribute to the formation of stable protective oxide layers, helping turbine components maintain performance under severe thermal and corrosive environments.

Heat Treatment

The master alloy itself is supplied in the as-cast condition and is not intended for direct heat treatment. Heat treatment requirements are determined by the final IN792 casting specification and customer manufacturing process.

Typical heat treatment of IN792 castings may include solution treatment and aging processes to optimize γ′ precipitation strengthening and high-temperature mechanical properties.

Heating and Pickling

Master alloy feedstock generally does not require pickling prior to melting. Surface cleaning or mechanical preparation may be performed when necessary to remove contaminants before vacuum induction melting or investment casting operations.

During remelting, proper furnace atmosphere control is recommended to minimize oxidation and ensure alloy chemistry consistency.

Hot and Cold Forming

IN792 Master Alloy is supplied exclusively as melting stock for casting applications and is not intended for hot or cold forming operations.

The alloy is designed to be remelted and used in the production of precision investment castings and directionally solidified components.

Machining

Master alloy ingots are not normally machined for end-use applications. Any cutting, sizing, or preparation required before charging into melting furnaces can be performed using conventional sawing or abrasive cutting methods.

Final machining characteristics depend on the properties of the finished IN792 casting.

Welding

Master alloy products are not intended for welding applications.

Weldability characteristics are governed by the final IN792 casting material and applicable fabrication procedures. Specialized welding practices are generally required for nickel-based superalloy castings operating in high-temperature service environments.

Product Forms

Available supply forms include:
